A Comprehensive 200-Hour Yoga Alliance Certified Teacher Training
Dates: October 13, 2018- June 1, 2019
Presented by: Kelly Love aka DoubleLove
Hosted by: Priya Hot Yoga
Align. Refine. Repeat.
DoubleLove’s comprehensive 200-hour teacher training program offers a unique combination of knowledge, technique, practice and exploration, while giving you the confidence you need to lead a safe and effective yoga class.
Our approach is technical yet exploratory. You will learn key alignment principles to the postures yet be encouraged to explore the depths of your practice by observing sensations, making adjustments and identifying what feels best in your body. These observations, sensations and adjustments enhance the information you have been given and ultimately how you relay that information in your teachings to others.
Our methodology is scientific yet artistic. You will learn techniques of how to structure a strong, intelligent vinyasa class but yet be creative in your offerings. Let’s face it, there is more than one way to prepare the body for dancer’s pose. We use the science to create a basic sequencing template that helps you get from point A to point B. We use the art to determine how we get there.
The curriculum is designed to be creative, interactive, flexible and fun. You will deepen your understanding of yoga, augment your personal practice and leave prepared to effectively share your knowledge and love of yoga with others!
Course Curriculum Includes:
- Asana Lab: In-depth study of the major pose categories
- Anatomy & the study of alignment principles
- Modifications and Adjustments
- Dive In! Practice teaching and more practice teaching
- Pranayama techniques
- How to build sequences that are logical, yet creative and effective
- The art of communication
- Cueing techniques
- Physical limitations and injuries
- Developing your own personal practice
- Philosophy: Discussion on the tradition and how it relates (or doesn’t) to modern day yoga
- The Business of Yoga
Having been a full-time employee in corporate america and a single mother, Kelly understands the challenges with adding the commitment of a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training program into the mix. The training is designed to offer flexibility (no pun intended) for those leading multiple lives (aka: jobs, kids, life as we know it). Being flexible with the schedule does not mean that we don’t want participants to take it seriously. It simply is meant to offer compassion to living in our fast-paced world which sometimes makes it seem impossible to do things we would like to do. (i.e. have a weekend or two you need to be out of town, No Problemo. Sick, we understand. Kids soccer team is ranked #1 and you can’t miss the game against the next best team? Remember, I had kids once too).
Bottom Line: Only those practitioners who have a desire to learn, to deepen their practice and are committed to actively participating and giving 100% should enroll in this program. We will not judge how or where you do it! (science + art)

During our weekend meetings, we will spend the first part of our day with a seated meditation to clear our minds, followed by a sequenced vinyasa practice to get in our bodies and explore our learnings. Following our practice, we will spend time in science lab exploring the asana, understanding anatomy principles, practice teaching (and more practice teaching) and discussing philosophy, the business of yoga and how to structure an effective yoga class. We will delve into topics scientifically and approach them artistically, allowing each participant to connect with others while developing their own authentic teaching style.
