Yin Yoga with Reiki Healing
Fri, Nov 17, 2017 at 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Much of Western yoga consists of yang practices, which are active and heat-building, focusing on muscle strength and contraction. Although these styles of yoga are undeniably beneficial to the practitioner, one must balance active and passive tissues and energies to live in optimum health. Yin Yoga is that balance, as it aims deeper at the connective tissues surrounding the joints, (ligaments, tendons and fascia). Yin postures increase flexibility, release deep-seated energies, and prepare the body and mind for relaxation and meditation. These passive yet challenging yin postures consist mainly of floor poses, which are held for 3-5 minutes at a time, encouraging the practitioner to dive inward on a physical and a mental level.
As you release into the therapeutic benefits of their yin practice, Reiki Master, Caitlin Kelly will coax you deeper into a state of peace and relaxation by sharing Reiki energy. Reiki is a hands-on, Japanese technique of healing through stress reduction and relaxation and has had profound benefits in those who practice it. The system is based on the concept of universal energy, this energy that animates and permeates every living being. When that energy is low, one is more likely to feel stressed or sick. Likewise, when one’s energy is flowing well, health, vitality and peace are more likely to occur. With our energy in balance, we can experience ourselves and the world around us with more openness and love.
The subtle energy of Yin Yoga and the healing power of Reiki is a wonderful combination of therapeutic work for the benefit of your physical, mental and emotional health. This is one you won't want to miss!
The room will be warm, but not heated.
Earlybird Rate through 11/11: $35/pp
Total Investment after 11/11: $40/pp
Space is limited, please reserve your spot ahead of time.

#Blessed: An Attitude of Gratitude
Sat, Nov 18, 2017 at 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Overpriced green smoothie on a clean marble counter with carefully placed fresh cut flowers in the frame? #Blessed.
From learning to say thank you as a child to posting on social media some subtle humble brags, you already practice gratitude on a daily basis whether you know it or not. You probably say “Thank You” out loud more than ten times a day, not to mention if you’ve added a #blessed or two, but how many times are you mindful when you say those words? What are you saying thank you for? How do you say it? Do you feel the thanks you are giving, and do you allow yourself to receive thanks? With a green smoothie in hand or not, join Maggie and the Priya community to go over some practical gratitude exercises, which will include how to discover the multitudes of ways we can be inspired to find gratitude on the smallest and largest, silliest and most serious scales. This workshop will be discussion and meditation based, with a bit of slow flow asana to begin and end our time. To top it all off, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Philadbundance, join us!

Let's Fly: An Arm Balance Workshop
Sat, Dec 2, 2017 at 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
This fun, challenging workshop is designed to teach you how to do arm-balances with greater mindfulness and ease.Contrary to popular belief, balancing on your arms does not mean having strong arms and putting all your weight on them, but rather learning to shift your weight, engaging other muscle groups (like your core), and counter-balancing so your arms hold the least amount of weight possible. Some call it the art of weightlessness.
This will be an open forum for trying new things, reviewing old ones, and refining arm balance poses that remain a challenge for you.
Be ready to be challenged but not intimidated. All are welcome as everyone can approach this at their own pace and comfort.
Our bodies take in toxins on physical, emotion and energetic levels. These toxins contribute to stress, disease and feelings of being blocked or disconnected. In this 3-hour workshop we will start with a vigorous Vinyasa practice designed to build heat and detox the physical body. Then we will move into practices to tap the emotional and energetic bodies through energy work and meditation. Finally the we will close with a 5 point ear acupuncture by licensed acupuncturist Caroline Grace Ashurst M.Ac., Dipl.Ac. and a soothing yoga nidra practice (the yoga of sleep). You will leave this practice clearer and more open to all that seeks to fulfill you.
At Priya Hot Yoga, we strive to strengthen our community - both mind and body. Our classes will be vigorous yet restorative; our environment will be warm and inviting; our customers will feel loved, cleansed, balanced, and revitalized. Priya Hot Yoga is a place to enrich your lifestyle and your spirit.
