Take your yoga practice to a more integrated level. Lead by Brittany Policastro this 40-hour immersion is designed for yogis who have been practicing for at least a year and want a deeper understanding of the yoga practice, but don't necessarily want to become a yoga teacher right away. Here you will gain the tools to expand your knowledge beyond what open classes provide to give you the tools and skills to take your practice to a deeper level. Broken up in 4 weekends you will have the opportunity to surround yourself with like-minded individuals while immersing yourself into the elements of the yoga practice not always discussed or practiced. This immersion will give you a greater awareness of how powerful the yoga practice is and how you can use it to transform all aspects of your life.

The yoga postures are usually the entry way into the practice of yoga but often students simply take a class and never really learn the proper alignment and the postures. As a result injuries and fatigue can be the result. In this module we will break down basic alignment principles that can be applied to all asanas to give you a greater understanding of how to say safe and empowered in your asana practice. We will also break down the five most commonly misaligned yoga postures in the Vinyasa practice so you feel safe and steady moving forward.
The practice of Pranayama is one that is often lost in the Vinyasa practice but it is so very important. In Pranayama, we use the breath to move and connect with our prana or life force energy. In this module we will talk about and experience the breath and the prana through breath several breath practices. You will gain knowledge on specific pranyama techniques, how to perform them and what their affects are.
Connecting with Chakras
The Chakras are the behind the scenes network of the yoga practice. They influence our physical, mental, emotional and energetics selves and can give insight to our ways of beings. In this module we will cover all 7 major chakras, yoga postures that go with them and you will gain a deeper understanding of how these wheels of energy can affect your life.
Understanding The 8 Limbs of Yoga
Asana (yoga postures) is not yoga. It's only one limb of the practice. There are actually eight. Understanding and connecting with all 8 limbs is a wonderful way to begin to bring the practice of yoga into your daily life, work and relationships. In this module we will focus on the the 8 limbs of yoga paying special attention to the ones that often get lost or forgotten.
Embodying Your Yoga Practice
It's one thing to practice asana but quite another to actually embody your yoga practice. In this module we will discuss how to bring the yoga practice into every aspect of your life. We will cover the nervous system, the 5 koshas, healthy boundaries, understanding energy and developing an at home practice.
We will meet over 4 separate weekends on Saturdays from 12:30PM- 5:30PM and Sundays from 11:30AM-4:30PM.
