Mala beads are used as tools for meditation and mantra, and can be a wonderful addition to your practice! You will learn the meaning of a 108 bead mala necklace, and will use various stones, charms and accents to string your own beautiful and unique mala! (all materials included). You'll learn the meaning of each stone, and ways to use your mala in your everyday practice. We will continue to weave in the significance of our mala beads and use them throughout the remainder of the retreat weekend in our practices.

The Yoga (Saturday & Sunday):

Throughout the weekend, we will practice a hybrid of yang (active yoga) with yin (passive yoga). The Vinyasa (active) classes will build strength, warmth and flow with fundamental yoga postures while relieving stress and tension by connecting breath with mindful movements. The Yin (passive) classes are designed to create flexibility, mindfulness and softness to release the connective tissues, create space and integrity in the joints and remove blockages to internal energy flow. You will leave feeling balanced and revitalized.

The Digs:

We will be staying at colonial lodge, where we will enjoy a 30+ acre retreat of solitude and beauty with breathtaking views of Cayuga Lake. The home’s original architectural and décor qualities have been preserved, while it has been completely modernized into a splendid 21st Century estate home.finger lakes 2

Outdoor relaxing is a joy, as the lodge features a grand, wrap around covered porch overlooking Cayuga Lake.

There is a quiet, two lane lake road dividing the home from the beach that is great for jogging, rollerblading, walking, and biking. There are also some short walking field trails behind the home. A lakeside cafe and general store is within walking distance (less than 1/2 mile). For fellow wine enthusiasts, the home is situated in the heart of the Cayuga Wine trail, and there are at least 10 wineries in very close proximity, and the Seneca Lake Wine Trail is easily accessible just over the hill.

Nearby Things to Do:

We left plenty of free time between morning and evening yoga sessions & meals for you to get out and explore the beauty of the Finger Lakes Region.

WINERIES The Finger Lakes is a world-class wine producing region, and touring vineyards has become quite the industry for this part of the state. Follow the organized Cayuga or Seneca wine trails or just pop into a local winery for a tasting.
