The Welcome Party & Mala Making Ceremony (Thursday Evening):

Mala beads are used as tools for meditation and mantra, and can be a wonderful addition to your practice! You will learn the meaning of a 108 bead mala necklace, and will use various stones, charms and accents to string your own beautiful and unique mala! (all materials included). You'll learn the meaning of each stone, and ways to use your mala in your everyday practice. We will continue to weave in the significance of our mala beads and use them throughout the remainder of the retreat weekend in our practices.

The Yoga (Friday & Saturday):

Throughout the weekend, we will practice a hybrid of yang (active yoga) with yin (passive yoga). The Vinyasa (active) classes will build strength, warmth and flow with fundamental yoga postures while relieving stress and tension by connecting breath with mindful movements. The Yin (passive) classes are designed to create flexibility, mindfulness and softness to release the connective tissues, create space and integrity in the joints and remove blockages to internal energy flow. You will leave feeling balanced and revitalized.

The Digs:finger lakes home

This year, we will be staying at a beautiful, luxury property ideally located next to Taughannock Falls State Park, Cayuga Lake and the Cayuga Wine Trail, and is just a ten minute drive to Ithaca, New York. This property is beautifully situated on three acres of private lawn and gardens, with a hot tub and fire pit.

We’ll be ideally situated in the hub of the Finger Lakes. You experience country beauty and peacefulness and you are literally just steps from some of the most magnificent features this area has to offer.  The house itself offers space, luxury, serenity and just a great happy feeling the minute you drive up.

Nearby Things to Do:

We left plenty of free time between morning and evening yoga sessions & meals for you to get out and explore the beauty of the Finger Lakes Region.

WINERIES The Finger Lakes is a world-class wine producing region, and touring vineyards has become quite the industry for this part of the state. Follow the organized Cayuga or Seneca wine trails or just pop into a local winery for a tasting.

GORGES AND WATERFALLS "Ithaca is gorges," proclaim the bumper stickers, and it's true. The south-center Finger Lakes region is littered with canyons and waterfalls.finger lakes 4

OUTDOOR ADVENTURE More than 25 state parks, a national wildlife refuge, a national forest, and all those lakes make for excellent hiking, biking, boating, fishing, or just taking in the

scenery.

HISTORY LESSONS This corner of the country was a hotbed of change, innovation, and progressivism in the 19th century—a place where suffragists rabble-roused, secretaries of state orated, and abolitionists converged. Museums and historic homes pay tribute to these movers and shakers of centuries past.
